CBD Recipes | Simple CBD Protein Shake Recipes

Add this to your list of CBD Recipes! Tired of buying pre-packaged, chalky, bland protein shakes? Good news, you can easily make a better shake (with CBD) at home. But, instead of giving you a bunch of different recipes, we’re going to give you one equation. Don’t worry, we don’t like math either, but this 5-step method gives you the ability to craft infinite protein shakes at home in less than 5 minutes. And the best part? No protein powders required (but, by all means, use them if you like them). Basically, as long as your shake contains a liquid base, a main protein, a protein booster, a natural sweetener, and a fruit, you’ll be energized and ready to seize the day (or your workout). Have fun with it, change it up, and try something new! Oh, and don’t forget to add the CBD. 


1. Choose a liquid base. 

The liquid base will mainly help with the texture of your shake, so it matters less what is and more how much you use. We suggest using about 1 cup of whatever you choose. Some examples of liquid bases for your recipe are almond milk, coconut milk or coconut water, oat milk, and natural fruit juices (just be careful of sugar and preservative contents in this one). Add this to your blender first!

2. Choose a main protein source. 

The main protein source will be the body of your shake recipe, the part that fuels you most! We suggest using about ⅓ of a cup of this part. Some examples of protein sources are peanut butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, silken tofu, greek yogurt, raw cashews, etc. Add this to your blender!  

 

3. Choose a protein booster. 

The protein booster adds a lil’ more boost to your recipe and enhances the properties of your main protein. We recommend about ¼ of a cup of this component! Some examples of protein boosters are ground flax seeds, chia seeds, hemp hearts (we may be biased, but these are our favorite), and whole oats! Choose your favorite, and add it to your blender!

4. Choose a natural sweetener.

Your natural sweetener will just make your shake a little more pleasant. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, feel free to skip this part of the recipe. We recommend using about 2 tablespoons of whatever you choose. Some examples of natural sweeteners are honey, agave nectar, coconut flakes, and dried dates. Add this to your blender! 

 

6. Choose a fruit. 

The fruit will help your shake to fill a cup while also adding some great flavor to your recipe! We recommend using 1 cup of the fruit of your choice. Some of our favorite fruits to use in protein shakes are blueberries, strawberries, bananas, mangos, apples, watermelon, blackberries, and raspberries. If you like your protein shakes cold, try using frozen fruit! Add this to your blender last! 

 

7. Add Your CBD
